What Newt’s Reading For CNN, anything goes now in their quest to destroy their political opponents. -Newt CNN Goes Full-Throttle After Trump Supporters, Includes Them in Same Group as Nazis, Klan Members By Dan Gainor Fox News CNN is undertaking a campaign against the 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump by associating them with Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan. Network anchor Jake Tapper questioned Rep. Brian Mast’s (R-FL) commitment to democracy for questioning the integrity of the 2020 election despite the fact that Mast lost his legs fighting for his country. Mast responded to Tapper’s accusations by pointing out that he fought for Tapper’s right to level outlandish charges against him. Don Lemon, another anchor on the network, claimed that people who voted for Trump are siding with the alt-right and Nazis. CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem asked for Trump to be isolated from society for allegedly inspiring an insurrection. CNN seems to be out to punish and demonize Trump voters simply because the network sees them as political adversaries. Corporate America took a big step this week, moving from captives of wokeness to active accomplices. However, corporations took their partisanship up a notch with the suppression of President Trump’s speech by throwing him off their platforms. Twitter, Spotify, Snapchat, and other platforms took away Trump’s ability to communicate with the country. These companies have hidden behind their purported right to throw anyone off their platforms. But what will happen if and when payment processors deny services to those with Parler accounts, for example, or if email services refuse to connect customers who deny climate change? By putting their thumb on the political scale, these corporate chieftains have left the door open for antitrust lawsuits brought by state attorneys general and private parties. According to prosecutors, he failed to file a foreign bank account report and made a false statement in a tax return. The professor of mechanical engineering received $19 million in a grant from the Department of Energy for research, and federal prosecutors allege that he failed to disclose his involvement with several Chinese entities as required by law. Chen had previously criticized the US government for creating an atmosphere of fear surrounding foreign researchers. In a statement released by MIT, the university expressed concerns regarding the allegations leveled by the government, adding that maintaining the integrity of their research and avoiding potential foreign influence was a major priority for them. This is common sense, and every agency should adopt a similar rule. -Newt A New Rule Requires HHS to Get Rid of Regulations That Aren’t Helping the Public By Brian Harrison Dallas Morning News Our Founding Fathers believed that the federal government should only impose laws on free American citizens that went through a rigorous legislative process. Today, however, the vast majority of rules are regulations created and forced by unelected federal bureaucrats in the executive branch. Violating these regulations can bankrupt many small businesses due to their prohibitive fines and penalties. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under President Trump recently established a rule that requires the agency to review all regulations every ten years to ensure that they’re still necessary and that there will be a process to let Americans voice their opinions during each review period. The HHS has already cut $25 billion in regulatory costs and is delivering some of the most successful regulatory reform in modern times.Poland is stepping up to fight censorship and defend free speech. -Newt Poland Plans to Make Censoring of Social Media Accounts Illegal By Shaun Walker The Guardian Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki condemned social media censorship in the wake of Big Tech de-platforming President Trump, stating that algorithms and corporate giants must not determine what content people should see. Polish government officials then indirectly compared social media censorship to Poland’s experience under communist suppression. They also proposed a draft law that would make the removal of posts that did not break Polish law a crime. The proposed law would allow social media users to sue online platforms to restore deleted posts in an abbreviated, electronic litigation process. Katarzyna Szymielewicz, president of the NGO Panoptykon, supported the law’s passage, arguing broader European Union regulations on maintaining free speech online would be helpful.
