While Democrats still have a greater number of female representatives in Congress, Mace argued that Republicans have ramped up women recruitment. By recruiting minorities, veterans, and women, Mace said the 2021 Republican freshman class represented the diversity of the party. Jon Ossoff, the Democratic nominee for the seat, does not understand the struggles faced by Georgians in their daily lives. He purchased a foreign film company that has worked with the Chinese Communist Party and Al Jazeera, a paid propaganda arm of the Qatari government. Ossoff has also advocated for radical, far-left policies such as defunding the police and the Green New Deal, which would destroy Georgia’s agriculture industry. He also supports Bernie Sanders’ plan to implement government-sponsored health insurance which would limit access to health care. May The Washington Times In a carefully planned assassination, Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, the deputy emir of al Qaeda, was killed on Aug. 7 by Israeli operatives. Abdullah spent years on the FBI’s Most Wanted list and is said to be the criminal mastermind behind the bombings of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania 22 years ago, which killed more than 200 people. Abdullah’s 27-year old daughter, Miriam, who was being groomed to be an al Qaeda leader in the future, was also killed as part of the assassination. The fact that Iran played a gracious host for an al Qaeda leader is understandable given that they are both committed to waging jihad and spreading radical Islam. In 2011, Obama’s Treasury and State Department began to uncover the ties between Iran and al Qaeda’s terrorism but that did not slow down his administration’s efforts to reach out to Iran’s leaders without ending their nuclear program. Joe Biden has defended the Iran nuclear deal and has promised to revive it. Maybe the revelation of Iran’s links to al Qaeda may give him second thoughts, but this remains to be seen. “Seattle City Council wants to provide an exemption from prosecution for misdemeanors they consider ‘crimes of poverty.’”- Newt The New Untouchables By Christopher R. Rufo City Journal In October, the Seattle City Council considered legislation that would exempt persons suffering from poverty, homelessness, addiction, and mental disorders from prosecution for most misdemeanors. This move attempts to frame crime as an expression of social justice and creates a new class of “untouchables” who are protected from the consequences of their actions. Practically, this would legalize a whole spectrum of misdemeanors, including theft, destruction of property and indecent exposure. This would also eliminate the bulk of the caseload at the Seattle Municipal Court, creating a justification for the progressive goal of reducing the size of the courts. Needless to say, it would provide an pathway for crime in a city that is already besieged by homeless encampments and addiction-fueled crime. Lisa Herbold, the city councilwoman who proposed this legislation, tried to sneak it through the budgetary process, framing her move in social justice terms as an attempt to reduce the cost of court proceedings and jail usage. Thankfully, the proposal was flagged by a local watchdog group and the barrage of negative attention prompted Herbold to send the proposal to the Public Safety Committee. Gavin Newsom for the state’s new COVID-19 restrictions arguing that they had no scientific backing. Faulconer specifically pointed to the closure of outdoor dining and parks for children as moves that would likely result in public anger and frustration. In response to Newsom’s orders, cities such as Beverly Hills, Pasadena, and Los Angeles have declined to enforce the governor’s new restrictions. Faulconer, who is reportedly considering a gubernatorial bid in 2022, mentioned his concern for business owners who had taken great financial pain to comply with previous COVID-19 restrictions and expressed his concern over the fact that arbitrary closures may erode confidence in public health officials. Newsom himself became the subject of criticism recently when he dined in the expensive French Laundry restaurant in Napa County with multiple people, apparently violating of the state’s rules limiting the number of households that could gather in one place.
