The latest offering in the franchise, called Star Trek: Discovery, is being criticized in some circles for being too political. I think this criticism is off base. The problem with Discovery isn’t that it is too political, or even too liberal. Its problem is that it is too woke.

Yeager should be an inspiration to younger Americans. If you have the courage and the determination, you can accomplish many things – and you can have an amazing life doing it. Was Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s comment about China having a “5,000 year history of cheating and stealing,” a bit of a dramatization? Maybe. But her sentiments were completely on point.
