Tim Scott (SC) said that the Senate runoff elections in Georgia are more consequential politically than anything we’ve seen in our lifetime. Incumbent Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, both Republicans, faced off against Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in races that will determine which party controls the US Senate. While the runoffs took place on Tuesday, the results aren’t expected to be finalized for multiple days afterward. Scott argued that, if Republican voters failed to show up on Jan. 5, then President Trump’s record and legacy would be in jeopardy with Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress and implementing a left-wing agenda. Scott concluded his appeal by saying that a Democratic-controlled Senate would be more likely to confirm potentially controversial nominees put forth by Joe Biden, such as Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) accused his Democratic opponent, Jon Ossoff, of lying to conceal his business ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Perdue connected Ossoff’s alleged dishonesty to the recent political controversies involving Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Hunter Biden, claiming all these incidents are part of Chinese efforts to influence American politics. He went on to accuse Ossoff of working for a propaganda company for the Chinese Communist Party. He also pointed out that Ossoff had responded evasively whenever he had been questioned about China. By comparison, there have been 173 deaths from COVID-19 in the city — almost four times fewer people. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the overdose incidents were heavily concentrated in low-income housing and public spaces. Despite these statistics, the city continues to distribute over five million free syringes to drug users every year. Since lockdowns were enacted in March, over half of drug-related deaths in San Francisco have been fentanyl-related. Additionally, the city has also reported over 110,000 instances of human feces in public spaces since 2011, the cleaning of which has cost city taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. San Francisco’s deterioration mirrors that of many Democrat-run cities in the country. In other major metropolitan areas, such as Houston, San Jose, and Orlando, Latino support for Trump increased substantially. This bodes well for Republicans as Hispanics are an expanding demographic. Meanwhile, driven by Trump’s appeals to the black community, Trump’s share of the black vote in Miami Gardens, the largest majority black city in Florida, more than doubled from 2016 to 2020.
