Newt Gingrich Audio Update: Thoughts on the Republicans in the Senate and the Georgia Runoff

My thoughts about the last couple of days regarding 12 Senators indicating that they’re going to object to the effort to count the electors and how this will encourage a greater turnout in the Georgia runoff.

This is Newt Gingrich. I just want to share with you a couple of thoughts about the last couple of days. I’ve never seen anything like it myself. You have at least 12 Republican US Senators. Who’ve now indicated that they’re going to object to the effort to count the electors as legitimate. You have potentially 160 or more House Republicans who are going to object. This is the largest rebellion against electors since the 1877, and it’s a sign of how many people, the more they look at it are convinced that there’s a great deal of corruption in the election. Meanwhile, the very fact that so many people are now standing up and fighting maybe a big asset in Georgia, where it’s encouraging the Trump supporters to turn out on Tuesday and help elect David Perdue and Kelly Loffler.

So I look at all this happening simultaneously. I’m fascinated as both a somebody who’s participated and somebody who’s a historian. I look at this and I think the next few days are going to be amazing. All of us ought to pay careful attention, but I wanted to share with you what I was seeing and how fascinating I think it is. And I’ll keep reporting over the next few days.
