Poll Results: Would you accept a free medically approved vaccine for COVID-19

On Wednesday, we asked readers “Would you accept a free medically approved vaccine for COVID-19.” Five hundred and fifteen of you responded and the results were evenly split – with a slight majority leaning toward “no.”

Just over 53 percent of you (273 readers) said they would decline a vaccine for COVID-19, while 47 percent (242) said they would take a vaccine for the virus. These statistics track with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s statistics for the percentage of adults who took a flu vaccine in the 2018-2019 flu season (45 percent).

While a vaccine for COVID-19 is a long way off, it will be interesting to see how opinions change once the treatment moves from being a hypothetical and becomes a reality.
