Gov. DeSantis Gives Definitive Quote of His Administration During Teacher Recruitment Speech 

During a Tuesday press conference, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis proposed three initiatives that he hopes will increase classroom teacher numbers due to a nationwide teaching shortage.  

He emphasized the importance of the education “mantra” under his administration to educate students and not indoctrinate them, which is why he signed the Stop WOKE Act into law earlier this year. Gov. DeSantis said, “They don’t want to be kind of a cog in some indoctrination machine.” 

Gov. DeSantis concluded his remarks by asserting that he wanted to ensure people knew that “Florida is the place where woke goes to die.”
