The Dollar General company, which currently employs about 157,000 people, is offering to pay employees who take the coronavirus vaccine. Most health experts have stated that it will take mass inoculation programs to fully combat and overcome the COVID-19 pandemic—and Dollar General’s efforts to obtain a vaccinated essential worker force is a step in that direction. Many companies, including Verizon and CVS have encouraged but not mandated coronavirus vaccine shots for their employees.
Dollar General is the first to provide a dollar incentive to such encouragement. Upon receiving the vaccine and showing proof of the inoculation, Dollar General employees are eligible for this cash benefit.
