What Newt’s Reading President Trump took decisive action to help struggling Americans, sidestepping Democrats, who stonewalled negotiations for their increasingly radical political demands. – Newt Trump Coronavirus Executive Orders Aid Struggling Families, After Dems Block Action in Congress By Andy Puzder Fox News President Trump on Saturday signed executive orders to provide much-needed economic relief to families struggling because of the coronavirus. “The president wisely rejected efforts by Democrats to play politics and use coronavirus legislation as a cover to enact their unrelated radical demands.” Indeed, while President Trump continues to put America and the American people first, Democrats continue to make clear they see the virus as an opportunity both to push their agenda and to demonize Republicans. Because of this divide between the parties, the president had no choice but to act by signing executive orders, which will help the country recover. His decisive action and strong leadership are sorely needed now, especially as Democrats focus more on transforming America than providing relief to the American people. She lived in public housing, her parents abused drugs, and her brother has been in and out of prison. She’s “a poster child for the group the Democratic Party has claimed to fight for since 1964.” Black people have overwhelmingly supported Democrats for 50-plus years, but that loyalty hasn’t improved their situation. “The truth is the Republican-led legislature has opened more opportunities for the Black community in the last 10 years than Democrats did in the previous 40 years.” For example, in 2013, Republicans created Opportunity Scholarships, state-funded grants that help poor children, who are usually Black, escape failing inner-city schools and attend private schools. The Democratic Party has fought to abolish this program for years. “For decades, Democrats have told the Black community that Republicans want to keep them down.” The reality is that Democrats offer failed promises while Republicans have helped Black people in tangible ways. And yet, the NBA has sent a clear message to the Chinese Communist Party: “For the right price, anything is up for debate — even the value of a human life.” The NBA maintained its academies in Xinjiang through the summer of 2019, even as league officials received reports on state-sanctioned abuse of student athletes there. And, of course, all the while the Chinese government was forcing Uighur Muslims into concentration camps. But the NBA never raised the alarm about its relationship with China. “The league may have distanced itself from their recruitment outposts, but officials are still afraid of sacrificing any more of China’s $4 billion fan base.” Soros-funded left-wing prosecutors in Democrat-run cities are taking a soft on crime approach with violent criminals. – Newt ‘We Will Not Prosecute’: Left-Wing Prosecutors, Many Backed by Soros Cash, Implement Soft-on-Crime Policies Across America By Peter Hasson Daily Caller “Left-wing prosecutors have implemented soft-on-crime approaches to criminal justice across America, in some instances making it a matter of policy in major cities not to prosecute specific crimes.” Political organizations funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros have backed many of these prominent district attorneys. For example, Kimberly Foxx became the state’s attorney for Cook County, Illinois, in 2017 with the help of Soros’s money. The billionaire gave more than $400,000 to the Illinois Justice & Public Safety PAC in 2016, and Foxx is the only candidate who the PAC supported in 2016. Foxx announced just before taking office that she “wouldn’t charge shoplifters with felonies unless they either had more than 10 previous felony convictions or if they stole more than $1,000 worth of goods, which was more than triple the previous felony threshold of $300.” She also said in June that she wouldn’t prosecute protesters charged with minor crimes in the unrest following George Floyd’s death. The irony of the NY AG taking on the NRA: If taking power to benefit yourself rather than your organization is the measure for indictment, the complaint could be used to indict herself based demands to dissolve the NRA to pander to voters. – Newt The Tragic Irony of the New York State Lawsuit Against the NRA By Jonathan Turley The Hill New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a complaint seeking, in part, the dissolution of the National Rifle Association. The complaint alleges lavish spending by officers. But the complaint is a tragic irony: “If taking power to benefit yourself rather than your organization is the measure, the complaint could indict” James. “Her demand to dissolve the NRA in order to pander to voters undermines the case presented by her office.” Many officers of organizations have spent money dubiously, but none of the organizations were disbanded. And clearly the NRA spends plenty of money to further its advocacy given the organization’s success. But James seems to revel in the image of a Democrat trying to destroy one of the most prominent conservative groups. This is a political campaign, and “the allegation is not as important as the target.” The real concern here is that so many want James to succeed in “dissolving a real advocacy group in this country.” The implications are frightening.
