Scott Hogenson, who had previously lived in Democratic-controlled Washington state, received his primary ballot for the state’s election in the mail. The only problem is that Hogenson now lives in Texas, and the United States Postal Service forwarded the official ballot to Hogenson’s Texas address. He won’t vote in Washington’s election because he’s no longer a resident there and doing so would be fraudulent. But he easily could. Who would stop him? The USPS is not equipped to handle a huge task like the election, and mail-in ballots present dangerous opportunities for voter fraud. The Democrats refuse to recognize this danger, making us see their true motives more clearly: An election tainted by rampant voter fraud. Trader Joe’s decides it won’t be bullied and will keep its branded line of specialty foods. – Newt Trader Joe’s Stands Up to the Cancel Mob: ‘We Do Not Make Decisions Based on Petitions’ By Kylee Zempel The Federalist The mob, spurred by its successes in campaigning against Aunt Jemima, Rice Krispies, and Lady Antebellum, has proven itself insatiable. It wants you to apologize for your nonexistent racism or be canceled forever. Most recently, it attacked Trader Joe’s, accusing the store of racism by giving special titles to its special foods. By calling its Chinese food “Trader Ming’s” and its Mexican food “Trader José,” Trader Joe’s is not making playful, respectful cultural references, according to the leftist mob; instead, it’s being racist. Trader Joe’s pushed back against these cries, announcing, “We do not make decisions based on petitions.” Perhaps Trader Joe’s will serve as the first example of corporations taking a stand against the left’s dogma of control. President Trump’s actions to reduce barriers to telehealth were key to enabling patients to get care during the pandemic. Many patients cannot meet with doctors, therapists, and other medical professionals in person without fear of contracting the coronavirus. Telehealth is the necessary solution, allowing practitioners to meet with patients over the Internet. Users of telehealth have expanded from 13,000 weekly patients in March to 1.5 million weekly patients in April. President Trump’s Medicaid coverage expansion is the reason this was possible. This change, which had been in the works since 2018, represents another triumph of the administration over the bureaucracy. California’s left-wing policies are driving out blacks and Hispanics. – Newt California’s ‘Woke’ Revolution Is Driving Out Blacks and Hispanics By Joel Kotkin New York Post California, once the home state of Ronald Reagan, has become a left-wing haven over the decades. Progressive Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Maxine Waters, and Gov. Gavin Newsom who call the state home call for defunding the police and sanctuary for illegal immigrants. In an ironic twist, these policies have only driven out the minority constituents for whom these politicians claim to speak. The state’s black population has dropped in half since 1990. Of the state’s black and Latino populations, 28 percent and 33 percent live in poverty, compared with the national averages for these ethnic groups of 22 percent and 21 percent, respectively. The higher energy costs that California politicians push are hurting the state’s poorer residents, who are leaving in mass quantities. Perhaps self-styled progressive politicians should reevaluate their policies if they want to help the minority populations in the United States. Top Democrat challengers in major Senate races won’t comment on Schumer’s “top priority” push for DC statehood. And no wonder — it’s a very unpopular idea. – Newt Top Dem State Challengers Silent on DC Statehood By Collin Anderson Washington Free Beacon Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has been heavily promoting the idea of granting statehood to Washington, DC. Schumer’s goals aren’t a mystery: He wants the heavily Democratic city to give his party two extra Democratic senators, letting the Democrats control the Senate. Schumer’s scheme is not supported by the American public — a Gallup poll from 2019 shows only 29 percent of American adults support DC statehood. It doesn’t take a political mastermind to understand that the American public doesn’t support granting statehood to a city that’s 5.6 percent the size of Rhode Island, the smallest US state. The Democrats’ Senate candidates are smart enough not to play Schumer’s game. They have not expressed support for DC statehood, but this doesn’t mean that they won’t support the bill in a Democratic-controlled government.
