Having been through a lot of negotiations, including the budget negotiations of the 1990s, I think President Trump should ignore the current stimulus bill negotiations. I think he should figure out every possible executive order that moves the system in his direction and go about the process of just deciding he’s going to revitalize America. He’s going to take care of opening up the schools and try to do everything he can to make Pelosi and Schumer absolutely irrelevant.

In promising to bring back Obama era tax policies, which also include increased capital-gains taxes and doing away with many of the estate tax exemptions, the Tax Foundation estimates that Joe Biden’s plan, “would reduce the size of the economy by 1.51% over the long run and lead to 585,000 fewer full-time equivalent jobs while lowering after-tax income for all income quintiles.”

Today, we need to reckon with totalitarian forces among us that, if given their way, would dispense with the American project and create a new system to ensure social justice and equality — as they define it and for our own good. Watching the deliberate, determined partisan negotiating strategies of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, I was reminded of my own experience in the budget negotiations of 1990.

On Friday, a federal appeals court overturned Tsarnaev’s death sentence, ordering a new trial to determine whether the convicted murderer and terrorist should be executed. In a ruling that enraged some victims, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit ruled that the judge in the 2015 trial “did not meet the standard” of fairness while presiding over the process to select a jury.
