Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) won an honorary “Employee of the Month” award from Goya Foods after asking Americans to boycott that company. At a July White House event promoting a Trump administration initiative that dedicated taxpayer support to improving access to private and charter schools for the Hispanic community, Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue praised President Trump. This led ex-Housing Secretary Julian Castro and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to call for a boycott, only to see the company’s sales jump 1,000 percent. In an interview on The Michael Berry Show, Unanue called Ocasio-Cortez “naive” for claiming to support the Hispanic community while advocating for socialist economic policies that would kill millions of jobs for Hispanics.
