Brian Kemp (R) made verifying signatures on absentee ballots nearly impossible in a March consent decree. After his victory in the gubernatorial race in 2018, Kemp was under pressure from Democrats like Stacey Abrams to solve issues that they blamed for his victory, citing “racial suppression.” So, Kemp gave in to their demands in the new law. The law blocks county officials from rejecting a ballot for a signature mismatch, instead sending a provisional ballot to each absentee voter with a mismatched signature to “cure” their ballot. The decree also requires any election official to consult with two other officials in the case of a mismatched signature. Then the officials need to write their names on the rejected envelope to begin the “cure” process. Practically, this makes signature verification nearly impossible because it is hard to pull two officials away from their regular duties and then, given the insinuation that those who reject ballots are engaged in racial suppression, no official would want their name listed on the envelope. Therefore, while there is nothing in the consent decree that explicitly prevents signature verification, the practical effect of the decree achieves that exact goal. In all the cases, the counter miscalled votes that were cast for President Trump as votes cast for Joe Biden. Hale Soucie, the monitor, said that the miscount occurred at the table where the votes for Cobb County were being tallied. Soucie stated that he went over to the Cobb County election officials to report the issue, but nothing was resolved. After he left the table, election officials kept a close eye on him and pointed him out for simply observing the process. Soucie also claimed to hear the counter complain about being watched despite being paid by the taxpayer. Mehrsa Baradaran, who advocates for paying out reparations, is a potential member of Biden's Department of the Treasury agency review team. -Newt Biden Taps Reparations Advocate for Treasury Transition By Joe Schoffstall Washington Free Beacon Mehrsa Baradaran, a professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, has been a vocal advocate of race-based reparations to correct white supremacy and close the “racial wealth gap.” She was recently selected by Joe Biden to be a part of his Department of the Treasury agency review team. In her 2017 book, The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap, she called for reparations to be dispensed through means ranging from simple cash payments to subsidized college tuition and basic income. The book inspired Netflix to donate $100 million to organizations that “support black communities.” Prior to being picked by Biden, Baradaran helped Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on policy proposals on the racial wealth gap. While Democrats like Stacey Abrams and Cory Booker have explicitly endorsed reparations, both Biden and Harris have pledged to study the issue without taking a firm stance on it. Past anti-Israel statements from Sen. Kelly Loeffler's opponent have angered some in the Jewish community. -Newt Georgia Dem’s Anti-Israel Sermon Resurfaces Amid Senate Runoff Race By Carl Campanile New York Post As the balance of power in the US Senate rests on the outcome of two runoffs in Georgia, comments made by Rev. Raphael Warnock, a Democratic challenger, on the subject of Israel have made him the subject of some backlash from Jewish groups. After the Trump administration moved the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, Warnock spoke of the plight of Palestinians, claiming that the Israeli government was shooting them down “like birds of prey.” He then went on to compare the Palestinian struggle with that of Black Lives Matter in America. Warnock is the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where civil rights icon Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. once preached, and he is seeking to defeat incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in January. Despite his previous statements on Israel, Warnock’s campaign issued a statement claiming that he is a strong ally of Israel and supports its right to nationhood. In a column, Warnock expressed his support for the two-state solution and announced his opposition to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israel. Republicans Won All 27 By Cabot Phillips Daily Wire On Monday, Burgess Owens, a former NFL player, was declared the winner of Utah’s Fourth Congressional District. Despite trailing by double digits in late polling, he won in a race designated a “toss-up” by the Cook Political Report. Continuing with the trend, Republicans won all 27 races designated by the Cook Political Report as toss-up races. Despite predictions of a blue wave, Republicans narrowed their deficit in the House to 222-205, with more pickups to come as they lead in most of the eight outstanding races. It seems inconceivable that pollsters can continue to make mistakes that constantly favor Democrats. The impact of these mistakes cannot be understated, as many Republican candidates did not receive money from donors who did not want to waste funds on lost causes. Once again, the leftist media promotes polls that paint a distorted view of reality. Whether Americans will wake up and demand more from the legacy media and their pollsters remains to be seen.
