What Newt’s Reading The Georgia (and all) recount processes need to be fair and transparent. -Newt Trump Campaign, Georgia GOP Cry Foul as State Begins ‘Fake Recount’ With Not Enough Monitors By Debra Heine American Greatness The statewide recount and audit of ballots began in Georgia on Friday, and many people in the Trump campaign and the Georgia Republican Party are already attacking the recount efforts as a fraud. Rick Manning, president of American for Limited Government, said the recount did not allow for a complete examination of the election system, the voter rolls, and the eligibility of those who voted. Gabriel Sterling, the Georgia voting systems manager, alleged that all parties agreed to having one monitor for ten adjudication teams, a claim that was immediately contested by US Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) and Georgia GOP chairman Doug Schafer who stated that they had objected to this move. Collins and Shafer also raised objections to the early deadline given to Georgia counties to certify their votes, arguing that setting such a deadline while the recount was ongoing was troubling. Incumbent Republican Sens. David Purdue and Kelly Loeffler, both from Georgia, called the state’s elections “an embarrassment” and called for the resignation of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Washington Post columnist Randall Eliason recently wrote a column arguing that going after Trump’s lawyers was fair game given that prominent law firms constitute “big business” that need to be held accountable. However, law is not simply another big business, as lawyers also have to represent people who are unpopular, including terrorists. Once again, it looks as if the media and activist groups are feeding off each other. As soon as it seemed like Joe Biden was going to win the election, the media and groups like the Lincoln Project started working to target President Trump’s lawyers in order to get them to drop him as a client. Since President Trump is unpopular with many Americans, there remains little patience to debate or litigate these issues. In December 2019, Democrats were concerned about Dominion voting machine security. Why not now? -Newt Congressional Democrats Had Raised Security Concerns About Dominion, Other Voting Machine Companies By Daniel Payne Just the News Since Election Day, the election technology company Dominion Voting Systems has been plagued with reports of glitches. In December, many Democrats in Congress, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (MA), Ron Wyden (OR) and Amy Klobuchar (MN), along with Rep. Mark Pocan (WI), expressed concerns that Dominion was prone to security issues. They alleged that Dominion systems were skimping on election security measures for convenience. The letter added that the election technology market was getting flooded by vendors that were more skilled in voting machine contract negotiations than local election, giving these companies “incredible power in their negotiations with local and state governments.” It is unclear how Dominion responded to these complaints. In a crowded race, incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) advanced to a runoff against Rev. Raphael Warnock, who has portrayed himself as a moderate and garnered 33 percent of the vote. An ordained Baptist minister, Warnock served as youth minister when his New York church invited the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, whom he praised enthusiastically. While some can argue that Warnock was not involved in the decision to invite Castro, he is certainly not someone who can be counted on to speak out when his allies endorse injustices, including the many Castro committed. More significantly, in a 2018 sermon, Warnock portrayed Israel and pro-Israel people in the US as the cause of conflict in the Middle East and excused anti-Israel terrorist violence. In 2008, he went on television to defend Rev. Jeremiah Wright, infamous for his “God damn America” line. Warnock has also been accused of dissuading witnesses from cooperating with police 18 years ago, when similar problems in the Catholic Church were coming to light. Surely, Georgians can do better. It's no theory: Soros pours money into local races to enact a radical agenda. -Newt Soros Resources Help District Attorney Races Go Liberal By Sam Dorman Fox News More local attorneys have won this election cycle with the help of funding connected to liberal megadonor George Soros, raising questions about his campaign to influence local law enforcement. Soros donated $1.5 million to the California Justice and Safety PAC, which backed Democrat George Gascón of Los Angeles. Soros’s PACs also contributed $116,000 to Missouri Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner’s successful reelection bid. Earlier this year, Gardner brought criminal charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who brandished guns while confronting protesters in front of their home. Last year, the Washington Post reported that Justice and Public Safety PAC fed progressive challengers nearly $1 million in the Arlington and Fairfax county prosecutor races. A 2018 Los Angeles Times report stated that Soros spent more than $16 million on county races outside California and $2.7 million on races in California. Last year, his activities caught the attention of US Attorney General William Barr, who contended that the developing trend would lead to more crime.
