The Expanding Republican Base

By Margaret Smith If President Trump is a racist, then he’s a really bad one — a fact that more and more people are now recognizing. Indeed, support for Trump among minority groups increased dramatically from 2016 to 2020. In fact, support for the president only dropped among white men. This election, Trump won a higher percentage of the Black vote than four years ago, engendering unprecedented enthusiasm among younger Black voters. Large numbers of minority gains occurred specifically in Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. Latino voters are becoming part of Trump’s strong base in these states. Trump has Cuban Americans to thank for much of this trend, with roughly 58 percent of them identifying as Republican — presumably in part because of their strong pro-life beliefs. And don’t forget about their opposition to socialist ideas, which are currently being glorified by prominent leftist groups such as Black Lives Matter and politicians such as Bernie Sanders, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. LGBTQ support for Trump doubled this year compared to 2016. Trump even gained more votes from Muslim voters, up 4 percent from 2016. The amount of women in the Republican party has also increased, as seen in the record-breaking number of Republican women now in the US House of Representatives. Overall, the president won the highest share of non-white voters — about one-quarter — of any Republican presidential candidate since 1960. This is clear proof of the Republican Party’s expanding demographics, contrary to what you hear in the media. Americans are waking up. People are beginning to realize that the left’s categorization of President Trump as a racist is untrue. And as soon as voters discover the left’s lies, minorities find themselves with little reason to vote against President Trump. They instead want to vote to continue four more years of record low unemployment rates, the development of opportunity zones, a thriving economy, prison reform, the funding of historically black colleges and universities, and the promise of the Platinum Plan. No matter how this election ends, Democrats are going to have to find a better reason for minorities to vote for them. Demonizing Republicans and Trump as racists won’t cut it. Minority Americans are smarter than Democrats give them credit for and are increasingly exposing the lies that the Democrats have used to trap them in their party. The Republican Party is the party for hard-working patriots, regardless of race, and Americans are beginning to realize that.
