By Michael Goodwin New York Post Up to now, Joe Biden has gotten away with avoiding serious questions about his son’s business dealings overseas by claiming he knew nothing about them. However, this claim was never credible. Hunter Biden, for example, rode on Air Force Two with Joe Biden to Beijing and come home with a $1.5 billion commitment from a Chinese bank. Furthermore, the New York Post recently reported that Vadym Pozharskyi, a Ukrainian adviser to the energy firm Burisma, thanked Hunter in an email for introducing him to his father, who was vice president at the time. Beyond Ukraine, the Post also uncovered an email between Hunter and Joe’s brother, Jim Biden, trying to set up a partnership with Chinese individuals, including energy projects and perhaps American infrastructure. According to reports, that email suggested that Joe Biden himself would hold an equity stake in the project, meaning that he would be involved in the deal. When a majority of Americans hold an unfavorable view of China, evidence that Biden attempted to enter into a deal with the Chinese communist government should not bode well for his electoral prospects. And don’t forget that social media giants Facebook and Twitter restricted the sharing of the Post story revealing the emails, while CNN, the New York Times, and other outlets did their best to dismiss the story. Regardless of the Biden protection racket that the mainstream media has turned into, this story is likely to hurt Biden — like a similar story hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016. Under Joe Biden's economic plan, an independent researcher shows doubling the current federal rate for minimum wage could eliminate millions of jobs. -Newt Report: Biden Economic Policy Will Kill Two Million Jobs By Collin Anderson Washington Free Beacon An analysis from the Employment Policies Institute (EPI) shows that doubling the federal minimum wage to $15, a policy supported by Joe Biden, could eliminate millions of jobs within the first six years. The study suggests that most of the cuts will come from low-skilled and entry-level positions, with states like Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina being heavily affected. The study also shows that 1.2 million jobs held by women could be lost by 2027 with minimum wage workers facing similar pressures. EPI managing director Michael Saltsman argued that, given that business owners across the country are already struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing labor costs would drive many businesses over the edge. House Democrats passed a bill in 2019 called the Raise the Wage Act that would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 and the federal tipped wage to $12.60 an hour. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the bill would eliminate 10 percent of jobs held by Hispanic workers and nine percent of affected jobs held by black workers. The adverse economic implications of the Biden economic plan need to be explained fully, and this study goes a long way toward doing that. But that has not stopped the political left from looking for ways to dampen the impact of her confirmation to the court. Facing relentless questioning from Senate Democrats on campaign issues such as health care, Barrett was gracious and poised in explaining why she could not grade precedent or take positions on policy matters as that would violate the judicial code of ethics. Even the liberal American Bar Association awarded Barrett its highest rating of “Well Qualified,” which is unsurprising given her measured approach and commitment to textualism, originalism, and judicial humility. Barrett’s confirmation should lead to an originalist majority on the Supreme Court, but Democrats have indicated their willingness to increase the number of seats on the court if that happens and they win both the Senate and the White House. The Democratic Party’s standard-bearer, Joe Biden, has refused to give a straight answer on whether he would pack the Supreme Court if elected. Packing the court would do incalculable damage to the institution, turning into an unaccountable super-legislature, packing it with liberal justices to impose their agenda on the country. Twitter's wave of censorship continues, this time with White House COVID scientist Dr. Scott Atlas. -Newt White House Expert Scott Atlas Censored by Twitter By David Marcus The Federalist Last week, Twitter censored Dr. Scott Atlas, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, for questioning mask mandates, locking him out of his account until he deletes the tweets in question. Atlas has repeatedly cited studies conducted by Oxford, the WHO, and the CDC illustrating the dubious nature of scientific evidence supporting universal masking. Despite Atlas’ credentials and research, some 20-something with his pronouns in his Twitter bio just pushed a button and erased scientifically accurate information. This comes after Twitter and Facebook blocked the sharing of a New York Post story revealing Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings in the Ukraine. Universal masking has been the subject of considerable scientific dispute, and Twitter has abandoned the pretense of being a neutral publisher by taking a stand in the debate. Under Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act, Twitter gets legal immunity as a platform/public forum and can’t be sued for any content posted by its users. But Twitter has in recent years been acting more like a publisher and engaging in political censorship, leading many people to argue that the social media giant should be stripped of its legal protections under Section 230. On another note, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has come under fire for advocating universal masking while himself partying maskless with Beyonce and Jay Z on a yacht. Twitter is no neutral platform and Congress should ensure it is deemed as such. In January, Andrew Cuomo stood with the Jewish community, denouncing anti-Semitism as “repugnant” and “anti-American.” His recent comments dangerously echo centuries-old charges about Jews spreading disease and their vast political power, endangering their safety. -Newt Gov. Andrew Cuomo Plays a Dangerous Double Game With New York Jews By Melissa Braunstein Washington Examiner Recently, four Democratic legislators representing Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods in Brooklyn accused New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) of a “duplicitous bait-and-switch.” On an Oct. 6 call with Orthodox rabbis, Cuomo explained that statewide rules allowed religious gatherings to proceed at a 50 percent capacity in order to reduce the COVID-19 infection rate. However, he then went on to implement a 25 percent, 10-person maximum rule for houses of worship within “red zones,” with no adjustment for building size. Cuomo then admitted that he was not following the science precisely, preferring to do something visible to soothe public fears about the virus. In addition, Cuomo’s rhetoric toward the Orthodox Jewish community in the city has been inflammatory. He blamed Jewish religious practices for the spread of the virus and suggested that he could shut down Yeshivas or strip them of state funding to ensure compliance with COVID-19 mandates. In response, Brooke Goldstein, executive director of The Lawfare Project, stated that Cuomo’s repeated attacks against the Orthodox Jewish community were outrageous and constituted “blatant Jew hatred.” In January, Cuomo stood with the Jewish community to denounce anti-Semitism, but his recent comments paint a different picture. In the backdrop of these comments, of the 180 hate crimes reported to New York city police between Jan. 1 and Sept. 7 this year, 74 targeted Jews — more than 40 percent. If only someone could tell Cuomo that using hate and fearmongering is never a good public safety tactic.
