Gen. Michael Flynn is necessary to clean up the FBI and Justice Department in the wake of their botched probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Recent revelations that the FBI acted improperly by targeting Flynn for a “perjury trap” justified the decision to let Flynn go. Dropping the criminal charges “is an important step in restoring control over a law enforcement agency that believed it had a right to pick and choose who were acceptable leaders for our nation rather than respecting the electoral process.” Top FBI officials simply thought that President Trump was unfit for office and wanted to oust him, hoping Flynn would be useful in that effort. The story of Gen. Flynn’s vindication — which will be written in full soon — is the real award-winning story. The WaPo and NYT should return their Russian Hoax Pulitzer Prizes. – Newt Framing of Michael Flynn: The Story That Should Have Won a Pulitzer Prize, but Hasn't Been Written By David Bossie Washington Times The ongoing outrage “over the FBI’s corrupt and grossly improper handling of their investigation into former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has brought the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting back into focus.” The Pulitzer Prize committee gave the award that year to “staffs of the New York Times and the Washington Post” for reporting “that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 election and its connections to the Trump campaign.” Since these awards, however, the probe into Russian interference and possible collusion with President Trump’s campaign were exposed as a hoax. The Post and the Times should return their awards if credibility still matters. Their stories didn’t further the nation’s understanding of anything; instead, they showed how politics corrupted the Trump-Russia probe. The story of how the FBI targeted Flynn should have won the Pulitzer, and it is yet to be written. The world continues to learn more about the Chinese Communist dictatorship’s lies and cover-ups, which left other countries unprepared for the coronavirus. - Newt Finally, the World Is Catching on to China’s Coronavirus Lies By The Editorial Board New York Post A recent report by the Five Eyes, an intelligence alliance of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, concluded that the Chinese government engaged in an “assault on international transparency” to the “endangerment of other countries.” Australia’s Telegraph obtained the report, which details China’s deliberate suppression of evidence, such as “‘disappearing’ doctors and scientists who tried to sound the alarm; destroying proof at genomic-studies labs; and ‘bleaching of wildlife market stalls.’ also notes the regime’s ‘deadly denial of human-to-human transmission’ when it knew the disease was spreading between people.” And China continues to deny wrongdoing, despite hoarding masks and other personal protective equipment early in the outbreak, leaving other countries with limited supplies.
